Camporè
AN ESTATE RICH IN HISTORY
The estate falls partly in the Contrada San Lorenzo and partly in the Contrada Campo Re, from which the project takes its name. The Contrada Campo Re owes its name to the Sicilian Vespers of 1282, which led to the expulsion of the Angevins from Sicily.
King Peter III of Aragon, who later became Peter I of Sicily, arrived in Randazzo and camped with his army in a place not far from Randazzo, called for this same reason “Campo Re”.
The estate, which belonged for years to a noble Sicilian family, was acquired by the Madaudo family in 2016.
The turning point came in 2016 when the estate was purchased by Maria Pia Madaudo. Together with her sister Cristina, she embarked on the ambitious project of restoring the estate and its ancient wine press to its original value as a place designed and organized for wine production. The two young entrepreneurs, drawing on decades of family experience in the winemaking industry and the valuable advice passed down from their grandfather, now preserved and implemented, decided to combine their passion for wine and the Etna region. The company's mission is to create fine wine, in harmony with nature, bringing innovation while maintaining a constant focus on tradition.
An icon of sustainability in the heart of Etna
Perfectly integrated into the Etna landscape, our new winery represents the perfect blend of innovation and tradition. Located in the heart of the Camporè estate, in the San Lorenzo district, this structure is surrounded by rows of vines and centuries-old olive groves, offering a natural spectacle that underscores our commitment to the environment.
Every element of the winery is designed to blend with the surrounding landscape, using local materials and sustainable construction techniques. This approach reflects our deep belief that the beauty of the land must be preserved and enhanced, not only for the present, but also for future generations.
Our philosophy also extends to vineyard management, where we use ecosystem-friendly farming practices, promoting biodiversity and soil health.
The Camporè winery is much more than a winery: it symbolizes our commitment to a greener and more sustainable future, where wine quality goes hand in hand with environmental protection. Come and discover how tradition and innovation blend together in a unique and authentic experience in the heart of Etna.
