Moon Chicana
Luna Sicana was born from a young love for Sicily, an ancient and productive land that has fascinated travelers for centuries and has been chosen, by many, as the home of future roots. Located in a valley in Casteltermini in the province of Agrigento, Luna Sicana began its adventure in 2008, driven by the desire to enhance the potential of this marvelous land by cultivating vineyards, olive groves, pistachio orchards, and other local crops. Promoting native grape varieties, experimenting with new products, and maintaining high quality throughout every stage of the production process are the values we want to give to this new venture in an ancient world.
Since 2012, Luna Sicana has managed all its crops and processing phases with certified organic regimes.
Our company is located in a fascinating area, reflecting the true Sicily, one that transports you back in time and brings you back to the true values of a time when one of the most precious things was the land and its products. Our wine, oil, and pistachio production focuses on promoting native species through organic farming methods. Our valley is characterized by diverse soil types, as it is crossed by the Platani River, which over the years has left behind both silty and sandy soils and a section with numerous river stones. For each plot, we have carefully selected the cultivation method to maximize the natural benefits of our crops.
Our farm is always windy, both in the form of a light breeze that helps keep the plants healthy and in the form of a strong sirocco wind that provides pleasant warmth in the winter, while in the summer it forces us to carry out many operations in the cool early hours of the morning to preserve the aromas and freshness of our fruit. Another factor that distinguishes our terroir is the high minerality of the soil, which is reflected in our products and wines, making them savory and with an excellent freshness.
