What is Cointreau

Cointreau is a classic liqueur that is distilled in red copper stills, with fresh and dried peels, flowers and essential oils of oranges that come from Africa, Spain and Brazil, along with spices, water, alcohol and sugar.

First the oranges are left to macerate in alcohol, then they go through a further distillation process to highlight the protagonist flavor - the citrus one.

Distillation also ensures an intense, pungent and enveloping aroma of citrus fruits in every form, starting from the peels and juice and ending with flowers and essential oils.

It is considered a Triple Sec , i.e. a sweet liqueur (obtained from triple distillation) flavored with orange, ideal for embellishing and sweetening many historic cocktails, or for preserving and enhancing the natural flavor of fruit, as in our Mixed Fruit Preserve with Cointreau!
