The plant

Organic Sulla honey from Sicily , where Sulla is a leguminous plant belonging to the Fabaceae family.

Sulla is very widespread in the Madonie because it is an excellent fodder plant, rich in proteins and therefore particularly nutritious for livestock. In agriculture, it is also used for soil regeneration. In fact, it allows nitrogen to be fixed in the soil.

For this reason, sulla is inserted between the various cereal crops to fertilize the soil and improve its yield . Its flowers are particularly popular, which is why in many places the sulla is also grown as an ornamental plant. They flower between April and June, coloring purple and creating particularly evocative landscapes.
