The Organic Syrah PGI Sicilia wine comes from the organic viticulture of the Cossentino farm, located in the hilly part of the Gulf of Castellammare.

Production notes

High planting density (5000 vines/ha) and low yields constitute guarantees for the quality of the grapes of the Sicilian PGI Organic Syrah Wine , harvested only at full ripeness strictly by hand and delicately placed in boxes.

For refinement, 500 liter tonneaus and 10 and 20 hl barrels are used.

Tasting notes

Organic Syrah wine PGI Sicily , with an intense purple colour.

On the nose, a complex bouquet of spices, pepper, rosemary, red fruits and tea.

In the mouth the taste is full and soft, with smooth tannins.

The finish is warm and enveloping.

History and Curiosities:

From respect for nature and from careful and rigorous organic viticulture, the wines of the Cossentino Agricultural Company are born, including our Organic Syrah Wine Igp Sicilia.

The company is located in the hilly part of the Gulf of Castellammare, in the Lavatore/Costa di Bisaccia district (350 meters above sea level), one of the most beautiful and evocative production areas of the Alcamo DOC.

The traditional native vines such as Catarratto, Inzolia, Grillo and Nero d'Avola have been joined by non-native vines such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah which in these lands have found unparalleled pedo-climatic conditions for the maturation and production of great wines .

In the mid-90s the Cossentino farm was among the very first wineries in Sicily to obtain organic farming certification!
