The  Zibibbo Terre Siciliane PGI Wine  It is a fortified wine, perfect for the end of a meal, or to accompany typical Sicilian desserts.

The  Zibibbo Terre Siciliane PGI Wine   it's a  Sicilian sweet wine  with an intense and pleasant flavour, with unique organoleptic characteristics, it has an intense yellow colour with unmistakable golden hues and has a particular aroma deriving from the dried grapes which contains all the aromas of the Island.

The Zibibbo Terre Siciliane PGI Wine   It pairs well with dried fruit, almond paste, and traditional Sicilian desserts made with ricotta and marzipan. This Sicilian fortified wine is also excellent as a dessert or digestif, and is a great accompaniment to a meal.

• Alcohol content: 16% Vol
• Grape variety: 100% Zibibbo (Moscato di Alessandria)
• Classification: IGP Sicilian Lands
• Production area: Province of Trapani (mainly in the area between the municipalities of Salemi and Marsala)
• Altitude: between 50 and 300 m above sea level
• Training system: Back
• Alcoholic fermentation: Initial fermentation in steel silos at controlled temperature and stopped by adding wine brandy
• Sales period: End of August/September.
• Color: Light straw yellow.
• Perfume: Intense, persistent, fruity.
• Taste: Full and soft, pleasantly sweet with hints of honey.
• Sugar content: 120 g/l.
• Refinement: Six months in steel tanks and three months in bottle.
• Pairing: Ideal dessert wine, dry pastries and hard cheeses.
• Serving temperature: 8-12°C.

History of Zibibbo:

The name zibibbo derives from the Arabic word  “zabib” , which means dried or raisined grapes, obtained from the late vinification of the grapes, which determines both the wine and the grape variety.  Zibibbo grape variety  It was introduced and spread in Sicily in the Mediterranean basin, in the lands conquered by the Arabs, who subsequently planted it on the island of Pantelleria.
