Winemaking
After destemming, to produce the Nerello Mascalese DOC red wine, it undergoes 8/10 days of fermentation and maceration in thermo-conditioned truncated cone vats; aging in 30 hectoliter oak barrels for 12 months.
Tasting notes
- Color : deep antique pink with light ruby veins;
- Perfume : on the nose raspberry, rose petals, cardamom;
- Taste : mineral in the mouth, medicinal herbs, white pepper, long and savory finish.
CELLAR
The Nerello Mascalese DOC red wine is made by the Lisciandrello company. The farm is a young Sicilian winery that produces its wines in the Cerasa winery, located 500 meters above sea level in San Giuseppe Jato, in the province of Palermo.
TERROIR – San Cipirrello
A highly balanced mix that makes the soil poor and limits the vigor of the vineyard.
It benefits from good ventilation but above all from a significant temperature range thanks to the presence of the mountainous front.
A countryside that can be seen at a glance from Piana degli Albanesi to Corleone.
A sidereal and silent landscape with outcropping rocks and little vegetation in winter; a triumph of life in spring and summer.
