Cantine Florio

Florio Cellars

Cantine Florio: a name that refers to a unique company, capable of developing an almost mythical history over the last two centuries, in which everything has revolved around respect for traditions, attention to detail and innovative visions. Marsala first and foremost, but then also liqueur wines in general, passito and sparkling wines, suitable to be enjoyed as an aperitif or as dessert or meditation wines. A line of labels that conveys strong emotions, thanks to the charm of the stories linked to an exceptional family. The Florio Cellars were built in 1832 by Vincenzo Florio who, with the desire to diversify his investments, purchased a stretch of land along the Marsala coast, where he built a tuff stone farmhouse, today one of the undisputed symbols of one of the most important wineries in western Sicily. After having gone through the most disparate vicissitudes, also linked to the war events of the two world conflicts, the company was purchased in January 1998 by Ilva Saronno Holding spa, which however kept its original philosophy firm and intact, based on union of innovation and tradition. And just as per tradition, the grapes continue to be mainly purchased from numerous suppliers, selected among the best on the Trapani coast, where in particular the Grillo variety has found its terroir of choice. This is the starting point, from which now legendary bottles are born, with a classic and upright style, which for years have placed themselves at the top of the international wine market. White vii that represent an important historical heritage, capable of taking you back in time, also thanks to the special reserves that only Florio can boast with its 200 years of history, but at the same time remaining more modern than ever.
